Just a couple of days ago, on Valentines Day to be exact, did Mr. Criminal release his first album of the year called "Gangster Love". The LP consists of 10 all new songs (including the intro and outro) and features Mandi Castillo. The stream can be found over at Spotify and Tidal. He also released a video for the song "1000 Miles Away" which consists of personal footage of him and his wife and which can be seen by clicking here. Interestingly this isn't on the "Gangster Love" album as it was already featured on "Criminal Mentality 3".

Just a week after releasing his last single "Music Blast" featuring Trouble Kidd and Mr. Dee is Conejo already with his next single called "Private Number". This tiem there are no features on the 2.37 minute song. Overall that's already Conejo's 5th single of the year. It remains to be seen when the first full album will be out but I wouldn't be surprised if a new single hits the airwaves soon...

After releasing videos on the current "Chicano Rap" topic is Mr. Capone-E back with some fresh audio, his newest single "What Is Chicano Rap". During the song he mentions rappers such as Kid Frost, Lighter Shade Of Brown, Frank V, Mr, Shadow, Lil One, Lil Rob and many more. Overall it's a beautiful homage to our favorite genre of music, Chicano Rap. I think I don't need to tell you that you can stream it on Spotify or Tidal and buy it from Amazon or iTunes.

By coincidence I saw yesterday that another Chicano Rap classic finally hit the digital world. This time it's the compilation "Old Town Gangster Hits Vol. 1" which was originally released by Old Town Records and Familia Records back in 2004. The album includes 12 songs from differnet Old Town Records releases, a catalog which is still missing in the digital world for most parts. To stream the compilation move over to Spotify or Tidal. Yesterday Conejo released his 4th single of the year called "Music Blast". The new song features Trouble Kidd as well as Mr. Dee. Earlier today the video for the song hit YouTube and can be seen by clicking here. In other news Conejo also released a 2nd video on the topic "Is Chicano Rap Dead?". According to him it's back due to the discussion that started because of the question if it's dead. Our friend Wyze from The G-Funk Junkies Podcast released a brand new episode a couple of days ago. In the new episode Wyze touches the topic "Is Chicano Rap Dead?" which was started by our former CalifaRap Community member The-Sick-One aka Prime and the topic "Who Is The King Of Chicano Rap?" which was started by Conejo in response to what Prime had to say. As usual you can stream this really interesting episode on Spotify.

R&B legend Rocky Padilla is getting ready to celebrate 40 years in the game. According to a post on his official Instagram he's going to release a "40th Anniversary" project split into 2 volumes containing over 75 songs. We can only take a guess if it will be all old songs or if it will also include at some new ones. So far he didn't announce a date but it should be coming out soon. For sure we will let you know once it's out, so keep checking back.

The last time you heard of Bakersfield artist B-Raw on CalifaRap was when he released his debut album "The Confidential Files" back in 2020. In 2021 he released an EP called "The Field Times". Now he's back with another EP entitled "Field Times Vol. 2". The album which was released by Field Boyz Musik features Mr. Penguin, Yung Skitzo, Sonie Nightz and Mike Dilla.
